It is equipped with an elliptical reflector which uses approximately 80 per cent of light emitted by the concentrated filament lamp. All three indications are projected through one lens, therefore the beam of light is always in the engineman\u2019s line of vision due to the unchanged location of the three indications. The following features have contributed largely to the rapid adoption of this signal since its introduction in February of 1927.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">It is now being used by:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">41 railroads in United States<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">5 railroads in Canada<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">6 railroads in Foreign Countries<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Signal head only for adding heads to our SA1 full signal.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>LED is NOT included as there could be many variations. We used a red\/green Tony\u2019s TTX Ultra Micro Bicolor LED, 0605 Red &amp; Green, 4 Pack, with resistors from Tony\u2019s Train Exchange.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/modelrailroadresource.com\/WP\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Instructions-SA1_v2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span><span style=\"font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;\">Instructions here.<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Many of our parts come with supports still attached, and will need to be carefully cut. We always recommend a good sprue cutter for this. We suggest wearing eye protection.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Parts that have had their supports removed may have some small bumps where the supports were removed that will need to be sanded\/filed off for a better fit.\u00a0\u00a0When sanding we suggest using dust mask and wipe with a moist paper towel so particles don\u2019t become airborne.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; color: #993300;\"><strong><em>ACC glue works well for all our resin parts.\u00a0<\/em><em>Parts take paint well after priming. We recommend Mr. Primer Surfacer 1000 or\u00a0<\/em>Tamiya Surface Primer<em>, but any good thin primer will work.\u00a0<\/em><em>All parts come unpainted.<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 8pt; font-family: verdana, geneva, sans-serif; color: #993300;\"><strong><em>Parts must be primed\/painted if exposed to sunlight as the resins will continue to cure and may become brittle.
