HO Scale Communications & Power Poles

Price range: $1.75 through $3.85

These were designed on drawings by Daniel E. Raible using a conglomeration of prototype sources to draw the poles.

There were NKP drawings involved. It was also a combination of historical NYC, and utility industry information he had found online to cross reference with.

The poles are 35′ scale tall, and there is a hole on the bottom for mounting with a piece of wire.

Two versions are available, three arm and seven arm. There is also an optional 15-foot pole extensions for those wanting to use taller ones for crossing the mainlines and such. No weeding needed, ready for a quick sanding and priming / painting.

The images showing the flex of these HO scale arms was post processing. They have a lot of give.

If you want to try printing these yourself you may download the files from Daniel Raible’s github site here.

  • Many of our parts come with supports still attached, and will need to be carefully cut. We always recommend a good sprue cutter for this. We suggest wearing eye protection.
  • Parts that have had their supports removed may have some small bumps where the supports were removed that will need to be sanded/filed off for a better fit.  When sanding we suggest using dust mask and wipe with a moist paper towel so particles don’t become airborne.
  • ACC glue works well for all our resin parts. Parts take paint well after priming. We recommend Mr. Primer Surfacer 1000 or Tamiya Surface Primer, but any good thin primer will work. All parts come unpainted.
  • Parts must be primed/painted if exposed to sunlight as the resins will continue to cure and may become brittle. Normal indoor florescent tubes and LED lighting should not be an issue.
  • All parts come unpainted.
