These were designed on drawings by Daniel E. Raible using a conglomeration of prototype sources to draw the poles.
There were NKP drawings involved. It was also a combination of historical NYC, and utility industry information he had found online to cross reference with.
We are selling the cross arms as separate pieces with two options. This allow us to keep the costs lower then trying to print the pole with arms attached. This also allows you the freedom to build as you want as well as a choice of substituting a wooden dowels for your poles and saving more money and setting you preferred height.
Image below shows how I taper my wooden dowels.

The optional 3D printed poles are 35′ scale tall, and there is a hole on the bottom for mounting with a piece of wire.
* The standard arms will come weeded with only minor sanding needed and then priming / painting.
The arm with the “wire wraps” will come with supports as these are delicate and must be handled with care. They are somewhat flexible and although they look fantastic, you may loose some on the layout. Each arm also comes with a rear arm bolt.
If you want to try printing these yourself you may download the files from Daniel Raible’s github site here.
